You picture will stay on the page until enough new visitors have added their profile pics to the page.
It varies by section as to how long your pic will stay up there. Some days it is slow and some days you might be pushed off the list in 20 minutes. Just keep coming back to add yourself again and again.
IF you would rather not have to make repeat visits over and over, you could purchase a VIP position that will allow your picture to remain at the top of the site for 1 day, 3 days or 7 days a time.
